Economy Vs Environment

The movie was all about the country Japan.The movie portrays how japan improved their economic plan how they have done it and how the improvement in the economy kills the many people of japan because of the damage they have made in their environment, also at the near end of the film it explains how they made the solutions in their environmental crisis.The film started portraying how Japan as developed country was. Japan's economic growth stared at year 1960 when their prime Minister Hayako Ikeda proclaimed his income doubling plan. Big hi-ways and development in their industries were made. After 7 years the plan was successful they have doubled their GNP and they become as the second largest GNP attained next to United States. Excessive priority on their economic development have created a devastating pollution to their country. The pollution they have made began charging them. Different disease have its outbreak in the country. All of the disease generated was all because of the  toxic chemicals not properly disposed. The Different disease had killed many Japanese. Until there came a time that they realized to revive their environment because they are being killed by it. The movie was a warning for the other countries not to abused too much their environment,because without a healthy environment people will die.

Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park

Philippines is country very rich in terms natural resources. Many different plants and animals are can be only seen here. Different beautiful island like the island of Boracay is what is in there. The Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park is another example. The Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park was located in the Philippines island. It is located in the Visayas region in the provinces of  Aklan and Antique. The Northwest Panay Peninsula was proclaimed as national park in the year 2002 by the president of that year Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. The Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park has a total area of 120.09 square kilometer.the Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park was a home of a wide range of flora and fauna of Visayas. Different kinds of animals also lived there in the place like Visayan leopard cat, Visayan Warty Pig,Visayan spotted Deer,Negros bleeding heart dove,Blue Naped Parrot,Visayan hornbill,Waldens Hornbill and the Panay monitor The Natural park is also a water basin in the place. The Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park forest is the outline path of the rain water going o the springs and river in the place which provide water for the 100,000 inhabitants. The water of the famous Boracay island is also provided by the Northwest Panay Peninsula watershed. The Philippines is blessed of this beautiful natural resources so we Filipino need to preserve and protect it. Preserving this one of the beautiful places in our country is what we need to do. Having it preserved for the next generation will be a great gift for them.

SHELL ECO MARATHON TOUR

"Shell Eco Marathon Tour"

Shell Eco Marathon tour was a great experience for me. The tour was very educating  and enjoyable. The Shell Eco marathon tour was held in the month of February. This is the first time that the tour was held here in the Philippines.For me this tour was very interesting and I have learned a lot in the tour.  In the tour we have seen different shell Eco marathon cars from different schools who joined the contest. Different cars from different schools have their different designs and originality. The different Prototype Cars undergoes such test for it to be approved to run on the race track. after seeing the different cars of different school . We go to the race track of the salt water car. Each one of us was given a salt water car to assemble and let it race on its race track. Building the salt water car was enjoyable and seeing it running in the track gives me such fun in the tour. After the racing of the salt water car we have been to the shell energy lab were we learned a lot. Testing all of the things there was a great experience. The Shell Eco marathon tour was a great experience and I had learned a lot from that tour.

"A Zero Waste Christmas Party"

"A Zero Waste Christmas Party"

A zero waste Christmas party. When the zero waste Christmas party was said to us it seems to be so hard and impossible because of its theme zero waste. Having the Christmas party zero waste is such a good practice to reduce our waste in this world. The utensils used in the Christmas party was all reusable for us not to produce waste. The foods the was being served were all good. After eating we played different games as part of the party. After all of the events we cleanup the room and the utensils and the zero waste Christmas party was successful. At the end of the day we all realized that zero waste party is possible.

1.  Describe some of the emotion you felt during the film.Which aspects of the video had the greatest impact on you and why?

-In the video we had watched I felt bad and sad that we people in this world destroys our own home mother earth. The aspect of the video that has the greatest impact on me was people died because of calamity because of our being irresponsible of what we are doing that destroys or world.

2.   What information contained in the video was new to you?

-   The new information that I've got from the video was that global warming was not the only problem we are facing today. There are deforestation, mass species extinction, and depletion of the oceans' habitats that needs solution or restorative action.

3.      What topics presented in the film you like to explore further?do you know what you need to know on order to continue learning about environmental issue?If the answer to that question is no,how can you find out what you need to know?

-In the film the topics that I would like to explore further is what are the things I can do to help for the restoration of the planet. For me maybe I need to know something how this destruction in the planet can be prevented and stopped.

4.    Discuss the ways that eating locally produced food is an environmental issue.What can individuals do to support the local production and consumption of food?

-We individuals can support local production and consumption of food by eating our own country products.

5.     Who should see this film and for what purposes ?Who might be unreceptive to the ideas in the film and why?

-The film should be seen or watch by our government officials so they can make something to prevent this destruction in the planet earth.

6.   Share one issue or item that you wrote on your index card while you were watching the 11th hour?

-   The one issue that I wrote was climate change or global warming because it is the one of the environmental challenge we are facing today.

7.     As a result of your having seen this film,what,if any specific actions do you think you will take?

-I will do some precautions that is needed for the sustainability of our planet earth. For example planting trees, conserving water & many other that I can make as an individual.
